Doria Mooneyhan

Doria Mooneyhan was born in Nicosia and was raised in the suburb of Aglandjia. She graduated from the Pallouriotissa Gymnasium and moved to the US in 1981 to attend college in Tennessee. After graduating with BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering, she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she worked as a Process Engineer for Jacobs Engineering. In 1989, Doria moved to Texas with her family and continued working as a Process Engineer specialized in the design of olefins plants for Stone & Webster Inc. and the subsequent companies that have acquired it, most recently Technip Energies. Doria became a board member of the Pancyprian Association of Texas, inc. in February 2005 through the encouragement of her dear friend Thekla Protopapas, an active member of the Cypriot community in Houston. After Theklas’s untimely passing a few months later, Doria, along with the other members of the board, established the Thekla Protopapas scholarship program in 2007 to honor Thekla. For the next 9 years, the program awarded more than 30 scholarships to deserving students of Cypriot origin. Doria has been a member of the Friends of Cyprus (FOC) board since 2018 and represents FOC on the Hellenic Cultural Center (HCC) Board. Doria has a son, Kyriacos, and two grandchildren, 3-year-old Logan and 2-year-old Lilah. Kyriacos and his wife Stephanie reside in Olathe, Kansas where Doria maintains a home and travels to frequently.
